Who We Were
We WERE a night time contact center that will be open from 8pm to 6am for any one for anything.
It is well known that Kelowna does not have 24/7 service provision for the homeless or those at risk of being homeless. The "gap" that we are hoping to address is providing an 8:00 pm to 6:00 am contact centre 7 days a week for the disadvantged, or in reality, anyone who needs that service. There is substantial evidence from the Homeless Censuses that have been performed over the last 8 years, as well as from numerous conversations with community colleagues such as, the RCMP, Downtown Kelowna Patrol, and After Hours Emergency Services, that would substantiate the need for a place such as this.
Please remember that the people on the streets are human being's not dirt, and perhaps Dare to Care will be the 1st step to finding their way back to the life they once had, or something similar to it.
